Opening Up Pathways forCambodian Children Leads to Unlocking Student Volunteers’ Futures STP Cambodia Marks 10th AnniversaryThe STP (Summer Teaching Program), marking its 50th anniversary this year, is a volunteer group open to enrollees in the English Studies Department of the Faculty of Foreign Studies. Volunteers use their summer holidays to teach English to junior high school students in a total of seven locales: Siem Reap in Cambodia, and the six Japanese cities of Muroran, Morioka, Ashikaga, Shimonoseki, Onoda, and Fukuoka. Professor Kensaku Yoshida, who now leads the Center for Language Education and Research, founded the group as a project in 1968 during his student days at Sophia.Student: 08Kohei FukushimaKanade Shibata23
