Causes of our environmental issues are based upon our eco-nomic/financial-driven society allowing development without consideration for our environment. As in how the environment and society are considered to-gether in the encyclical Laudato Si’, wellbeing of the environment and our society cannot be separated.” The PopeA「貧困の削減と環境保全を同時に達成するには、具体的に何が必要でしょうか？」小早川麻美さん（外国語学部イスパニア語学科4年）Q「今、人類は、環境保全に真剣に取組むのか、さもなくば滅亡するのかという厳しい選択を迫られている。環境問題の要因は、経済や金融至上主義に因るもので、環境バランスを考えずに開発をし続けることが問題だ。回勅『ラウダート・シ』では、環境だけでなく社会問題についても触れている。環境と社会は切り離せないものだ」教皇A「『難民もそれを受け入れる共同体の成長も大切である』と述べられていますが、難民との共存についてはどのようにお考えでしょうか？」佐藤航貴さん（栄光学園高等学校2年）Q「難民問題は、ある国連職員が第二次大戦以来の人類の最大の悲劇と言ったが、移民・難民の歴史は人類の歴史と同じぐらい長いものだ。人類とはそもそも移民であり、ヨーロッパ人も何世紀にも渡る移民の積み重ねから成り立っている。移民・難民は、戦争や飢餓から逃れてきた人々であり、これは受け入れなければならない。そして、教育、仕事を与え、社会に溶け込むようにすべきである。孤立化はテロにつながる可能性がある。移民・難民受け入れの手本となるのは、過去に50年間受け入れてきたスウェーデンだ。イタリア、ギリシャも難民を受け入れ、助けようとしている。皆さんが移民・難民の問題を掘り下げて勉強することを期待する」教皇A“You address the importance of growth in refugees as well as that of accepting communities. What are your thoughts on refugee issues?”Kouki Sato (Eiko Gakuen Senior High School)Q“One of the UN staff claimed that the refugee issue today is the biggest human tragedy after WW2, how-ever the history of migration or refugees stands as long as our entire human history. The human race is based on migration, and Europe was established over centuries of migration. Migrants and refugees escap-ing wars and poverty must be accepted by another community; education and work must be provided, and they should not be isolated. Such isolation may lead to terrorism. Sweden has a 50-year history of ac-cepting migrants and refugees and is a good example to follow. So are Italy and Greece. I am hoping for the younger generations such as yours to study migration and refugee issues in depth.” The PopeA4
