Institute of Bioethics

Institute of Bioethics（Established 2010）

Sophia University Institute of Bioethics was established in April 2010. It is based on the University’s fundamental principle of Christian humanism. By integrating the fields of Humanities, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences, the institute aims to promote the study of bioethics. The staff is made up of researchers specialized in the fields of arts and sciences from both inside and outside the University. The Institute is original in the sense that its research targets on encompassing the three areas of bioethics, medical ethics, and medical welfare.
