To New Students Entering in April 2020, and their Parents/Guarantors,

Given the wide impact of the spread of the coronavirus, many events at Sophia University have been cancelled, we also decided to cancel the April Orientation Camp for undergraduate freshmen to ensure the safety of our students. Additionally, with the announcement of the state of emergency by the Japanese government, our plans for a replacement to this unique face-to-face program became unfeasible.

Sophia University Orientation Camp for undergraduate freshmen is a unique event that staff, faculty members and current student helpers had been preparing for and we are disappointed that were forced to make this difficult decision. Starting your new university life in the current situation may leave you worried about how to proceed, to give you some relief from this troubled time we have organized information from FLA to help you prepare for classes and university life.*

In regards to the orientation camp fee that is included in the Education Enhancement fee, we will be reallocating it as described below.

1. Orientation Camp Fee (Full Amount)
20,000 yen

2. Reallocation Method
The fee will be reallocated to part of the 2021 tuition. No specific action is required. We ask for your understanding regarding this matter.
