Research and Teaching Interests:
Aki joined the FLA in September 2010. He received his BA from Yokohama National University, his MA from Hitotsubashi University, and his MEc and PhD from the Australian National University (ANU). Before he joined the FLA, he held positions at the University of Melbourne and the ANU. His recent work focuses on: economy-wide potential gains from structural reforms in Japan; the welfare effects of a partial tariff reduction in Japan; and economics of ticket resale (scalping). In the FLA, he teaches introductory and intermediate microeconomics, international trade and strategic thinking (introduction to game theory).
