Welcome to Sophia University Summer Session in East Asian Studies and Japanese Language*
In 2018, we launched a new summer program: Summer Session in East Asian Studies and Japanese Language.
This consists of three-week academic program, and it provides participants the opportunity to take part in East Asian Studies courses and an intensive Japanese language courses.
Since its foundation in 1961, this program has provided the participants with the opportunity to study about Japan and explore the country's relation to Asia and the rest of the world. The students experience various aspects of Japanese culture and society, and witness the myriad ways in which all cultures of the world are reflected.
In 2021, the Summer Session in East Asian Studies Courses was hosted entirely online, with all courses conducted live, on-demand, or with a mix of real-time and on-demand classes to maximize both interaction with lecturers and fellow students and flexible delivery across different time zones.
*Summer Session in Japanese Language Courses (Intensive Japanese Courses) 2021 has been canceled.
