As the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to affect us all, Admissions Office has decided to close the office from Wednesday, April 1 until further notice. The date of reopening will be informed here once scheduled.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, Sophia University will hold all scheduled campus tour and stop accepting new registration for campus visit in consideration of visitors' safety.

Types of canceled campus visit:

Guided Campus Tour for group and for individual visitors, Self Guided Group Tour.

Information will be updated on this page if further decision is made regarding campus tour.

Part of selecting a university is knowing what the campus looks like: its classrooms, its facilities, its student life, its neighbors, and so on. Sophia's all 9 faculties, 29 departments including English-taught programs are conducted on Yotsuya campus- an urban campus located in the heart of Tokyo. Prospective students and their guests are invited to experience our campus. If you have any questions on visiting campus and admissions, please feel free to contact and visit the Admissions Office.

Visitor Information

Guided Campus Tour with Information Session for Individual Visitors

Sophia University Admissions Office provides guided walking campus tours with brief information session for the individuals or groups of up to 9 prospective high-school students and parents/counselors. For this type of tour, it is necessary to make a reservation in advance. (Please see "Customized Group Visit" for groups of more than 10 persons)

Meeting place
Please gather in front of the Admissions Office located on the first floor of the Building 12 on Yotsuya campus.

Reservations

Please send us an application email at least two days before your visit, and we will reply upon receiving your request. If there are still places available for the tour, we will update the information at this page and continue to accept applications even after the deadline.

What to include in your application email

Subject: Application for the Guided Campus Tour

1. Tour date (please choose one of the scheduled dates above)
2. Applicant’s information:
name, age, gender, country and city, occupation (for students, school name and academic year), phone number (that you can be reached at on the day of the tour), email address
3. Information about the visitors accompanied by the applicant (up to 8 persons):
name, age, gender, country and city, occupation (for students, school name and academic year)

Privacy Policy

The information obtained in the application might be used as a reference when planning further tours. Personal information will not be disclosed to any third party.

Cancellation

In case you are not able to attend the tour, please inform us by email or phone call at least 2 days before the tour date.
Those who have to cancel their visit on the date of the tour must inform the Admissions Office directly through phone call.

Note(Please make sure to read before applying)
- Please arrive on time on the day of the tour. The tour will start exactly on the scheduled time.
- The tour will be held even if it rains, however, in case of severe weather warnings and broadcast, the tour might be cancelled.
- There is no parking space on the campus. Please use the public transport.
- Brief information session about admissions and programs will be provided after the tour. If you have more questions after the session, feel free to visit the Admissions Office on the 1st floor of Building 12 during the office hours.
- Please refrain from visiting classes, taking photos and interviewing students.
- Feel free to use cafeteria or shops on the campus. Please note that it gets very crowded during the lunch break 12:30~13:30.

Customized Group Visit

If you are bringing a group of prospective students to Sophia University and you would like help with your visit, Admissions Office provides guided walking campus tours.

It also depends on the numbers of available English speaking guides. If you're not sure about the group size, please contact Admissions Office and the staff will help you organize the tour.
