／Course description |
This course provides an overview of social issues in Japan, mainly from a sociological perspective. It will examine the changes that have taken place in Japanese society over the past few decades, and analyze the factors behind those changes. The topics will include work, marriage, family, poverty, population aging, migration, nationalism, and regionalization. Through literature reviews, and discussions, this course will help you understand the structure of Japanese society and of Japan’s role in Asia and the global community. |
