講義概要 /Course description |
This course explores theoretical and methodological relevance of colonialism for human sciences in general and the study of religion in particular. We will begin this course with a close reading of Edward Said’s seminal work, Orientalism, and then examine other theorists who expand on Said’s postcolonial critique in their respective fields. This is a discussion-oriented class and students are expected to take the initiative in generating active discussions throughout the course. |
