講義概要 ／Course description	Religion and the arts have been deeply related throughout human history. This course will focus on the relation of religion and music and address the following questions: What is religion? What is music? How has music formed an intrinsic part of religious practice? How has music been used to imagine the nature of the cosmos and human existence?

評価基準・割合 ／Evaluation	リアクションペーパー／Reaction paper　（30.0％） レポート／Report　（70.0％） その他／Others(in detail)　：Course Requirements and Evaluation 1. Attendance and completion of all assignments required. 2. There will be several short writing assignments of 1 to 3 pages. 3. There will be a final paper of about 15 pages. 4. Determination of grade: short papers account for roughly 30% of the grade; and the final paper for 70%.
