講義概要 ／Course description	In studying language learners’ acquisition of communicative competence in the target language, the sociolinguistic and pragmatic aspects of language should be taken into consideration. The course is designed to discuss this relatively new theme in language education. Students will study a survey of sociolinguistics and pragmatics and consider application of the theories and research findings in these fields to Japanese language instruction.
