講義概要
/Course description
On completion of this course you will have accumulated a basic level of experience in translating a range of texts and will have compiled a small portfolio of critiqued translations. You will have developed an understanding of both the practical aspects of translating as well as the theoretical side of translation studies. You should be aware of the most common problems at the lexical, stylistic, syntactic, cultural, and discourse level encountered in the translation process and understand some of the means of resolving them. You should have acquired not only a broader, deeper, and more reasoned approach to translation, but also a more objective, critical, and professional approach to your own English translation and writing ability and techniques.
