講義概要 ／Course description	This is the upper-intermediate course that will bridge the transition to the advanced level. The course aims to develop the intermediate level proficiency and application skills. The significant emphasis is placed on the communication. This class also enhances the reading and writing skills by learning a variety of written style expressions and more complicated structures with a wide range of authentic materials on Japanese life, culture, and society. The assignments include a variety of task work with the use of different language skills. A project on taking surveys will help deepen the student’s understanding of Japan, Japanese life, culture and society. Students will learn approximately 350 kanji for production and/or recognition (cumulative 1,100) in kanji and reading classes. This course is offered for ten 90-minute classes a week. Prerequisites: JPN270, JPN211, JPN200 or equivalent by Japanese Placement Test.
