/Course description
This course is designed for students who have some knowledge of basic grammar and have already been familiar with hiragana, katakana and some kanji. It aims to develop language proficiency in Japanese, integrating four skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The emphasis is put on thorough mastery of basic functional grammar of Japanese through oral practice. We will cover Lesson 9 to 20 of Situational Functional Japanese (SFJ). By the end of this course, you will learn how to communicate effectively in Japanese on and off campus, and develop fundamental reading and writing skills. Approximately 200 kanji (Chinese characters) for production and recognition will be introduced.
