講義概要
/Course description
International economic transactions are categorized in two ways; (1) international trade transactions (transactions of goods and services) and (2) international financial transactions (transactions of financial assets). In this course, we will mainly learn the latter type of transactions using macroeconomic theories. Basic knowledge of macroeconomics will help your deep understanding of the course materials. The topics we learn will include the short-run and long-run determination of exchange rates, various exchange rate regimes and their effects, and currency crises. I would also discuss international contagion effects of recent financial crisis. Basic knowledge of macroeconomics will be useful for your understanding of the topics.
