講義概要 /Course description |
The primary focus of this course is placed on the preparation and practice of extemporaneous speeches and presentations. So, while the speaker may prepare the message in the form of an outline with very brief notes on index cards to prompt them during the speech, the exact wording is not determined until the time of delivery. Prepared—but not memorized—speeches allow for greater spontaneity and audience adaptation. Presenting memorized or scripted speeches will result in a failing grade for that speech. |

Missed speech days or failure to be prepared for a speech will be marked as ‘F’. Your grade is also derived from your active participation. That is, you must not only physically come to class, but also must be prepared and participate actively in all classwork to receive full credit for the course. Lateness, persistent tardiness will not be long tolerated.
