The Identity and Mission ofJesuit Higher EducationJesuit higher education has been characterized for centuries by its synthesis of academic excellence with the moral and spiritual calling to change the world for the better. For this article exploring the identity and mission of Jesuit higher education, Fr. Sali Augustine, S.J., Vice President for Student and General Affairs at Sophia University, sat down with Fr. Michael J. Sheeran, S.J., President of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU), on the occasion of Fr. Sheeran’s visit to Tokyo.
