Society for Embracing People with Different BackgroundsEri Ishikawa, a Sophia University International Law graduate and the current Chairwoman of the Board of the Japan Association for Refugees, was a senior in high school in 1994 when she first heard about the escalation of the civil war in Rwanda. This conflict between the neighboring Tutsi and Hutu peoples resulted in the massacre of 10% to 20% of the population.
