2013年度夏期休暇中にオックスフォード大学Exeter College（イギリス・オックスフォード）で行われる短期研修（英語によるプログラム）への参加者を募集します。
本学で開講される事前プログラムおよび現地での研修を修了し、所定の成果を修めた者については、帰国後、本学での学科科目もしくは全学共通科目（選択科目）への単位（2単位）が取得できます。
　　　
Sophia will send students to Summer Program in English at Exeter College, Oxford University in Summer 2013. By participating in this program (including pre-sessions) and successfully completing the courses in Oxford, students can earn 2 credits for specialized education or for general studies(GS Electives) at Sophia.

プログラム内容: Contents of the Program	THE MORNING SESSIONS will concentrate on news reporting and the basic skills needed to become a journalist. The lessons will be classroom-based with much interactive participation, and supplemented with visits from senior journalists to talk of their own experience. The course will cover: ・The role of the media in society: to inform, educate and entertain; ・The qualities needed to be a good journalist; ・How to evaluate news in newspapers and news broadcasts on radio and television; ・How to select and research a story; ・How to write a news story that readers/viewers/listeners can understand; ・How to conduct interviews and report a speech; ・Guest speakers; ・Visit to the theatre and to a movie (one each week); THE AFTERNOON SESSIONS will concentrate on English language skills for future journalists. This part of the course covers all four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. English will be taught via (a) reading and analysing the newspapers (b) listening to broadcasts and news bulletins from the perspective of language and communication. The sessions will help the students to develop the higher-level language skills required to think and write quickly and creatively in English, and to interact at a complex level with native speakers. 参考資料：　プログラム概要

募集対象・応募条件: Conditions	本学正規生（学部生・大学院生）で英語で授業を履修できる者 Full-time Degree students(Undergraduate, Graduate) who can follow the courses offered in English. 2013年春学期休学中の学生は参加不可。 Students who have taken a leave of absence in the Spring semester 2013 will not be eligible for this program.

申込期間等: Application period	4月16日（火）～18日(木)　国際連携室窓口（2号館1階）にて application accepted at International Liaison Office (1st floor, Bldg. No2) from Tuesday, April 16 to Thursday, April 18. 　 4月26日（金）　参加可否通知（Loyolaに掲示する） Results of the participants selection announced on Loyola on Friday, April 26.
申込み方法: How to apply	下記提出書類を申し込み期間内に国際連携室に提出 The following application documents should be submitted to the International Liaison Office during the application period. ①　参加申込書　 Application form 1 　ダウンロード ②　参加申込書（英語）：研修校での選考に使用　 Application form 2 　ダウンロード ②　最新の成績通知表（Loyolaからプリントアウトされたもの）（プリントアウト方法：「履修成績照会」→（過去を含めた全成績を選択）「ファイルに出力」→「ファイル出力開始」→印刷マークを押す） ※春入学の1年次生は成績通知表は提出不要。 The most recent academic transcript printed out from "Loyola" . ※A freshman entered this Spring semester does not need to submit a transcript. ③　英語能力証明書のコピー（TOEFL,TOEIC,各種英語検定など）あれば Photocopy of the English proficiency test results (TOEFL, TOEIC, etc.) *if any
単位付与: Credit	①本学で開講される事前指導を含む所定のプログラムを修了し、上記講座に参加して所定の成果を修めたものには、学科科目もしくは全学共通科目（選択科目）として４単位を付与。成績評価は「P（合格）」、「X（不合格）」のいずれかとなる。「P」の場合のみ、上記2単位が付与される。　 2 credits will be awarded towards the specialized education or general studies(GS Electives).　Grade will be "P（pass）" or "X（failed）". 　 ②単位が付与されるためには、原則として次の2つの条件をすべて満たしていなければならない。 1．本学で実施される事前指導に全て出席すること 2．海外で実施される講座に参加して所定の成果を修めること 3．その他、本学担当教員から指示のあった課題を提出すること Only students who satisfy all of the following requirements will be able to earn credits. 1. To attend all pre-session programs at Sophia during the Spring semester 2. To participate in the program in Cambridge and successfully complete the courses 3. To hand in assignments if an instructor at Sophia gives any. 　 ③当該科目の履修登録は学生自身が行う必要はない。 Students will not need to register for this course during the regular course registration period in April. 　　 ※このプログラムは外国語学部英語学科科目として扱われる。単位付与に関する詳細は2013年度学部「シラバス」の英語学科のページを参照すること。 ※The program is offered as a specialized education course by the Department of English Studies, Faculty of Foreign Studies. 注意事項: Notice	・申込書を提出してからのキャンセルは原則不可。 In principle, cancellations after submission of the application documents is not possible. ・この講座は、日本人学生のために特別にデザインされたもので、参加学生は日本の大学生のみである。 This program is especially designed for Japanese students. Participants will be from Universities in Japan only. ・本研修は全員が出発から帰国まで同一旅程で参加するものである。渡航期間の変更、宿舎の変更はできない。 The program will run at designated schedule and all participants will stay at the same accommodation designated by the university. ・本研修には教職員や添乗員の引率はない。 No faculty member will accompany the participants. ・渡航にはパスポートが必要である。所有していないものは申請手続きを行うこと。（申込期間までに間に合わなくても可。） The passport is required for participating in this program. Applicants who don't possess the passport must apply for it. ・外国籍の学生はビザ取得が必要な場合があるので、申込の前に国際連携室に相談すること。ただし外国籍の者は、渡航国政府の判断によりビザが発給されず、参加不可になる場合もある。 Applicants with a foreign citizenship may need to obtain a visa to travel to a third country. The international students should consult with the International Liaison Office in prior to submitting an application. In some cases, an international student's visa application may be rejected by the embassy of the host country, and as a consequence, the students may not be able to particpate in the program. ・国際情勢や開講大学の事情等により講座の開講中止や開講期間の変更が生じる場合がある。 The program may be cancelled or changed due to unexpected changes in the international situation, etc.
