Sophia University to Confer the Degree of Honorary Doctorate upon Dr. Rudolf Wilhem Maria Solzbacher

The Conferment Ceremony and Commemorative Lecture will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017

Sophia University will confer the Degree of Honorary Doctorate upon Dr. Rudolf Wilhem Maria Solzbacher, Director of the Diocesan World Church / World Mission Archbishopric of Cologne General Vicinity in high recognition of his leading role in supporting disastrous areas worldwide including Tohoku area assisting to reconstruct educational institutions and churches affected. He also made a great contribution for the growth of Japanese Catholic educational institutions including Sophia University with a long time history of bridging Archdiocese of Cologne and Japan. The Conferment Ceremony and Commemorative Lecture will be held on May 26th.

Dr. Rudolf Wilhem Maria Solzbacher received Bachelor Degree in Theology and Philosophy from The University of Bonn and Doctor of Divinity from the University of Münster. Since 2002 Oct he serves as Director of the Diocesan World Church / World Mission Archbishopric of Cologne General Vicinity. In 2016 He was awarded St.Gregory the Great by Pope Fransis.
