On March 5 the Grief Care Seminar was held at National Oohunato Hospital in Ofunato City in Iwate Prefecture. About 50 people in the medical profession attended the seminar to listen to the lecture by Director Yoshiko Takagi of Sophia University Institute of Grief Care. She addressed the audience on the topic of “Support in the disaster-stricken areas – Looking at how it changes on a daily basis.”
After the lecture, the floor was opened to questions under the direction of Professor Yoichiro Ohashi, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities. Under the direction of Professor Ohashi, participants exchanged opinions freely and engaged in an active discussion on rapidly changing situation within 2 years since the earthquake attack.
On March 6 a lecture was held at Rias Hall in Ofunato City addressing a general audience of about 50 people.
This seminar was held at the request of Ofunato City in Iwate Prefecture in response to public voices calling for a seminar that can help them get through their painful feelings.
