Associate Professor Satoshi Horikoshi of Department of Material and Life Science, Faculty of Science and Technology、and Sun-lux optical Co. Ltd. have jointly been involved in developing a low-cost, high speed manufacturing technique of plastic lenses, having the same quality as those made of glasses. Their joint efforts were met with great success of reducing manufacturing time to one-fifth of what it used to take.
