Presentation
On November 30, the first Japan Education Fair co-hosted by Global 5 Universities (Sophia University, Akita International University, International Christian University, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University and Waseda University) was held at the Chinese International School in Hong Kong. While Akita International University and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University only distributed brochures, Sophia University, International Christian University and Waseda University provided both presentations and individual consultations.
The fair consisted of two sessions; one at lunch time and the other in the evening. At the lunch time session, each university ran a booth during the lunch break of the school, distributed brochures and consulted with participants. Not only local high school students but also many parents of Japanese students attending different high schools visited our booths and asked various questions regarding our admission systems.
Individual Consultation
During the evening session, we provided all visitors with a presentation about the fascination of study abroad in Japan followed by introductions from the three universities. In the beginning, Professor Angle Yiu, Vice President for Academic Exchange of Sophia University, delivered a speech about the attraction of study in Japan. She spoke about the benefits of attending distinctive Japanese universities like Global 5 Universities which emphasize education from an international perspective, by using the keyword “Cool Japan” and interweaving contemporary Japanese technology and cultural aspects. Subsequently, International Christian University, Waseda University and Sophia University respectively presented about the academic programs, student life, and characteristics of each university in detail. After the presentations, brochure distribution and individual consultation were held in each university’s booth, and the venue was full with visitors.
