Presentation in Japanese and Korean languages
On January 22, a group of 39 university students from South Korea visited Sophia University as part of the Youth-Exchange Project with Asia-Oceania and North America, KIZUNA Project, which was launched by Japanese Government. This KIZUNA Project created an occasion in which students from Japan and South Korea could strengthen their friendship ties and promote mutual understanding of their respective countries.
Participants lined up for photo taking
After the welcoming speech by President Tadashi Takizawa, Sophia University was introduced by our students. Then, the participants spent a great time with true or false questions about Sophia University and Japanese culture. They also enjoyed a campus tour led by Sophia students.
In the afternoon, our students did a great job in putting an exchange meeting in which a discussion was carried out focusing on the subject of earthquake disaster and recovery efforts. Language barrier has never been an issue for the participating students to explore their different viewpoints.
At the close of the meeting, a representative Korean student thanked us by saying, “We are very grateful for your warm welcome. You gave wonderful memories to all of us. We definitely would love to visit Japan again.”
