On June 29、a ceremony was held to celebrate our victory in Sophia University-Nanzan University General Sports Festival. In keeping with tradition of giving out awards to outstanding teams and groups since 2003, President Takizawa presented this year’s recipients with Presidential Award for Jonan Sports Festival and Special Award for Jonan Sports Festival.
■Presidential Award for Jonan General Sports Festival.
Recipients: Women’s Table Tennis
Reason for Award:
－Revival of table tennis tournament in the Jonan official program
－Winning a straight victory with a 3:0 win against Nazan team.
Recipients: Men’s Basketball Team
Reason for Award:
－Winning eighth straight victory.
－Their victory that came soon after the opening of the Festival gave an impetus to the success of subsequent games.
■Special Award for Jonan General Sports Festival
Recipients: Cheering squad
Reason for award:
－they went all out to cheer the Sophia teams boosting the morals of team members
Recipients: Sophia Broadcasting Circle (SBC)
Reason for award:
－Recognized for their hard work and enthusiastic efforts exhibited in their photographs and on the screen highlighting memorable scenes of the games.
