The 23rd Yanmar Essay Prize Contest was jointly sponsored by Yanmar and Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the topic for 2012 was Facing the Challenges of Developing Agriculture.
A prize-winning essay was a collaborative work of Ms. Tanaka and Ms. Sugimoto and they have been awarded jointly on February 1, 2013.
Their essay discusses the issue on how the industrial vegetation can affect our vegetable consumption and its relations to the existing farm produce. Their research will help define the role of industrial vegetation in the future and draw our attention to the steps that vegetable market should take in the changing market situation. The essay also examines and compares the industrial vegetation and farm products grown on soil.
The question is how we can bring healthy and safe foods to our table? As a consumer, it’s about time we become more food-conscious and learn more about healthy diet.
