
Professor Yoshiaki Terumichi appeared live on the Evening News aired on NHK Radio 1, Thursday, December 27, 2012, 5pm-6:50pm. This week’s news featured the issues surrounding fostering global-oriented students.
Professor Terumichi talked about the role Sophia University must play in preparing our students for success in an increasingly interconnected world. He thereby introduced our model curriculum for fostering global talents, a series of open lectures sponsored jointly with Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) for the Fall semester 2012.
The name of this radio program in Japanese is “Watashi mo hitokoto! - Evening News,” meaning literally “Let me say a word or two!”
At the end of the program, a couple of questions on the featured topic will be addressed to the audience and the listeners send a few words of comment.
This week’s questions were:
― What skills do you think are necessary to prepare oneself for the rigors of a global competitive economy?
― What kind of issues do you think there are for fostering global-oriented individuals?
