Professor Shinji Shimizu in the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences was honored with the Manufacturing and Machine Tool Award for Academic Achievement by Manufacturing and Machine Tool Division, the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers.
The Award gave recognition to Professor Shimizu’s potentiality and creative achievements in the study of the high precision machine tools with the suppression of thermal deformation as the central figure. His manifold contributions to the field of machine tools present further developments in the study of science.
