When and How to Apply for Degree Admission

The Faculty of Liberal Arts is on the semester system with regular sessions in the autumn and spring.

Application is accepted through the following steps.

① Register for on-line application system: https://sophia.applyjapan.com
② Make sure to include all your application information together with the required written essay in your on-line application.
③ Pay the application fee and submit your application on-line.
④ Mail the printed application forms and other application materials to Sophia Admissions Office.

Please make sure to read the Application Procedure booklet for the details about application documents or your application might end in a failure. We hope to accept all applications!

3. Certificate of Graduation/ Expected Graduation from High School (only freshmen applicants)
*If you need a form, please use the form provided.

4. Standardized Test Scores (SAT/ACT/IB Diploma)

5. Proof of English Proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS)

6. Two Letters of Recommendation (use forms provided)

7. Application Materials Checklist (use the form provided)

Application Fee : 35,000 yen

Payment should be submitted by credit card or through Chinapay or PayPal services during the last stage of online application by the dealine of application period, 23:59(JST). The application fee is non-refundable once it is paid. Online application usage fee of 500 yen will be charged in addition to the application fee.
