Sogang-Sophia Festival of Exchange (SOFEX) 2014 held in Seoul

Sophia and Sogang University held an annual exchange event of sports and culture called the SOFEX from November 6 to 8 in the Sogang campus in Seoul, South Korea. This year, Sophia’s delegation included 141 students from 10 groups including soccer, basketball, dancing, folk song, Latin music, magic, karate, cheer leading, and debate as well as 21 faculty and staff members. Theology and science-and-technology instructors from the two universities also held workshops.

Following the opening ceremony on November 6, dance groups from both universities performed at Sogang’s outdoor stadium. The following day, soccer and men’s basketball matches were held. Sophia athletes did well, but Sogang beat Sophia in both matches. Students also demonstrated Brazilian music, Korean traditional performance, and engaged in English debates. On November 8, students, faculty and staff members from both universities visited Panmunjom Demilitarized Zone on the border with North Korea and other tourist sites and enjoyed fellowship. Next year, SOFEX 2015 will be held in Sophia.
