Basic Policy concerning Harassment

Basic Policy concerning Harassment

Sophia School Corporation (hereafter referred to as the Corporation) prohibits any act of harassment and ensures that education, research, studies, student life and work are conducted in a fair and safe environment, as it respects the individuality of all its members, and recognizes that harassment is an infringement of human rights and an act of discrimination.

The Corporation shall prevent and eliminate harassment that inhibits the activities of education, research, studies, student life and work of faculty and staff of Sophia University, Sophia Junior College, and Sophia School of Social Welfare. If there is any case of harassment, prompt and appropriate measures shall be taken in accordance with the Guidelines.

All faculty, staff and students of the schools established by the Corporation must observe the Guidelines for Preventing Harassment, and must take heed not to commit acts of harassment.

To maintain a comfortable working environment, the persons responsible for supervising the faculty and staff must make efforts to prevent and eliminate harassment through instructions given in daily work. If there is a case of harassment, they shall take prompt and appropriate measures in accordance with the Guidelines.
